the vision of LEAVES COFFEE ROASTERS roaster Yasuo Ishii.
In the streets of Kuramae, Tokyo,
Mr. Ishii engaged daily with coffee with sincere dedication,
constantly contemplating the experience beyond mere taste. 。
Responding to this vision,
ORIGAMI—which has consistently crafted brewing tools supporting baristas' creativity—joined forces.
When these two entities aligned their gaze toward the same horizon,
this project began its journey.
Our goal was never a predetermined answer.
Rather, the boundless expression of coffee, as vast as the number of brewers.
To make the act of brewing more intuitive.
So that within each cup,
the brewer's sensibility shines through unfiltered.
Our overlapping techniques, philosophies,
and an unquenchable thirst for coffee knowledge
gave birth to this exceptional product.

That's how decisively we can state it.
The collaboration between ORIGAMI and LEAVES COFFEE ROASTERS
started by confronting the very essence of brewing.
No matter how exceptional the beans or roasting technique,
if their true charm isn't properly drawn out, the envisioned cup remains unattainable.
That's precisely why Mr. Ishii's first endeavor wasn't recipes or roasting,
but redesigning the dripper itself.
He pursued relentlessly: “What defines the ideal cup?”
Born from this accumulated dialogueis the Pinn Dripper.
The Pinn Dripper enables
more stable extraction and a diverse range of flavors.
Regardless of brewing technique, it allows anyone to
maximizing the potential of the coffee beans.
To embody this ideal,
we made repeated refinements down to the finest details.Beyond the size, angle, and thickness of the dripper body itself,
we refined every detail through repeated improvements— from the shape of the ribs and the size of the bottom hole,
to the optimal angle for the paper filter in the Pinn Dripper.

「The name “Pinn” was conceived by Mr. Ishii.
meaning a mountain peak or summit,
Derived from “Pinnacle,” it embodies the desire
to fully unlock the inherent potential of coffee beans.
This sentiment is woven into its design.
Our goal
was not to create a tool that imposes flavor, but one that “directly draws out the beans' charm.”
Why it performs consistently without relying on technique
The development theme we set for Pinn was:
“Achieving consistent extraction for anyone, without relying on skill.”
To realize this ideal,

1. The Ideal Brewing Environment Created by a 55° Angle
The 55° angle adopted by the Pinn Dripper.
This angle reduces the dripper's diameter compared to the standard Origami Dripper: Outer diameter: 18mm / Inner diameter: 17mm smaller.
The smaller coffee bed area reduces the time lag before water reaches all areas.This ensures even water distribution, preventing under-extraction and over-extraction.As a result, anyone can consistently draw out the beans' inherent sweetness and clarity.

2. The consistent flavor achieved through rib structure, born from ORIGAMI technology
The rib shape is meticulously designed using ORIGAMI manufacturing technology.
Ten fan-shaped ribs create optimal air escape pathways, accelerating water flow velocity for a clog-resistant design.Additionally, the balanced design of grooves and surfaces ensures stable filter placement in the dripper.

3. Ideal temperature curve and compact, controllable design achieved through material and thickness
The dripper body features a thicker design than the conventional ORIGAMI dripper.
During the early extraction phase, the water's rise in temperature within the dripper is gradual, preventing excessive energy transfer. In the later extraction phase, the ceramic material and its thickness enhance heat retention, allowing the temperature to decrease slowly.Furthermore, its compact shape, with a height reduced to 6cm, enables flexible control over the kettle spout's height. This structure reliably reproduces complex, balanced flavors.

The bottom hole's inner diameter measures 28mm—larger than typical cone-shaped drippers and approximately 5mm wider than the ORIGAMI Dripper.
This diameter was determined through repeated testing to minimize water pooling, reduce clogging risks, and facilitate clean flavor extraction with consistent flow rates.
